The 5638 Series are SDMC (Secure Digital Memory Card) Connectors used as the recording medium of portable devices, which can be widely introduced into the market of PDAs, MP3 players, notebook PCs, mobile phones, PHSs, car navigation systems, DVCs (Digital Video Cameras), DSCs (Digital Still Cameras) and other complex machines for these applications. The 5638 Series conforms to SDMC, has a low-profile design with a maximum height of 3.0mm on the board, and both spring-eject type and non-eject type are offered in normal or reverse structures. This series corresponds to MMC cards, and despite the low-profile design, guide rails are adopted to prevent the card from directly making contact with the board. The 5638 Series is equipped with retention metal to meet needs of secure mounting, and the card detection switch features an original design utilizing card contact terminals.
